Kelly Services Senior Accountant in Montague, Michigan

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS WILL INCLUDE:

  • Evaluate, monitor, and report to ensure data collection accuracy.

  • Review detailed account analysis related to job costing.

  • Prepare, analyze, and report weekly, monthly, and quarterly related to job costing functions.

  • Conduct research and perform analytical studies regarding cost analyses, accuracy, and profitability.

  • Review and maintain work center and labor rate schedules.

  • Assist in month-end closing, review costing, and adjust as necessary.

  • Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls related to costing.

  • Ensure timely submission, accuracy, and validity of job cost reporting to management.

  • Maintain daily export of costing data from the shop floor system into the ERP system.

  • Conduct daily Work in Process (WIP) calculation.

  • Collaborate with the Quality department and other process improvement teams to provide analysis for cost saving/lean opportunities.

  • Cross train with the accounting department to provide support and back up when needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; and one to two years related experience.

  • Ability to critically analyze data and determine its validity.

  • Ability to analyze multiple variables, reconcile them between multiple computer systems and analyze and correct associated product costs as they move through the manufacturing and distribution cycle.

  • Ability to use advanced spreadsheet functions.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.

  • Strong team and collaboration skills.
