Kelly Services Electrical Controls Technician - Nights in Athens, Georgia

KellySETT, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician for one of our Global Clients based in Athens, GA. As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will support manufacturing processes by implementing improvements, conducting equipment setups, performing testing, and ensuring effective maintenance of production equipment. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and computer system issues in automated systems.

Electrical Controls Technician

Athens, Georgia

Pay: $25.00/hr W2

2nd Shift: 3:00pm - 11:00pm

3rd Shift: 11:00pm - 6:00am

This full-time position has competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, 401k, and paid time off.

As an Electrical Controls Technician, you will support manufacturing processes by implementing improvements, conducting equipment setups, performing testing, and ensuring effective maintenance of production equipment. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and computer system issues in automated systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic checks, monitor automated systems, and isolate problems for repair.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues, determining whether problems are mechanical, electrical, or from computer systems.

  • Repair or replace necessary components, such as sensors or electrical wiring.

  • Update supervisors on work status, problems, and recommend improvements or corrections.

  • Implement approved corrective actions and modify procedures to enhance equipment operation.

  • Maintain, restore, and update process equipment control software in PLCs.

  • Install and maintain AC and DC motors, controllers, circuits, and electrical wiring and control systems.

  • Support engineering groups in designing, updating, and validating equipment controls and software.

  • Develop written maintenance procedures for electrical and electronic maintenance requirements.

  • Document all activities in equipment logs and comply with documentation standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • 4-6 years of work experience in a related field.

  • Advanced computer and database management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relation skills.

  • Proficiency in statistical and analytical problem-solving.

  • Understanding of industrial sensors and standard testing techniques for electrical equipment.

  • Organizational skills to balance and prioritize workload.

  • Knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and industrial controls (including PLCs and PC-based interfaces).

  • Experience with motion control modules and motor drives.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing processes and techniques.

  • High school graduate, G.E.D., or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of technical school, military training, or equivalent OJT in electrical/electronic controls.
