Cytotechnologist

Kelly Science & Clinical is currently recruiting for a Cytotechnologist for testing laboratory in Austin, TX.

This is a laboratory-based position responsible for processing and evaluating Thyroid FNA samples, ensuring quality control, and assisting with various technical tasks.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily technical and stain quality assessments of cytology and histology slides.

  • Process Thyroid FNA samples according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Maintain technical knowledge in cytopathology and/or histopathology.

  • Adhere to and document quality control/quality assurance activities.

  • Identify and address problems affecting test performance or result reporting.

  • Assist in maintaining compliance with regulations and laboratory procedures.

  • Participate in team activities and operations, including specimen handling, processing, and slide archiving.

  • Recommend action plans for process improvement.

  • Promote workplace safety and environmental/infection control standards.

Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year (preferred 2-3 years) experience as a Cytotechnologist, ideally in a high-complexity laboratory.

  • Bachelor's degree in clinical lab, physical, or biological science.

  • Certified Medical Technologist/Laboratory Scientist (ASCP or equivalent).

  • Meet state licensure requirements (if applicable).

  • CLIA requirements and liquid-based cytology training/certification preferred.

  • Part-time schedule or full-time schedule
