Purpose of Position

Assist the engineering team that develops and tests flight simulators with an emphasis on cockpit and avionics systems, simulator systems, IO interfaces including serial data busses and instrument designs.

Responsibilities

  • This level requires considerable know how of the subject matter, principles, and concepts of more complex work that encompass electro-mechanical systems, including software.

  • Subject matter expert in wiring simulated instruments and modification of actual aircraft instruments and panels.

  • Able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which included the most difficult aspects.

  • Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

  • Aligns and assembles parts such as leads, coils, wires, tabs and terminals.

  • Connects components, connectors, terminals and contact points.

  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

  • Performs online go not go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

  • Three years plus related experience and training.

  • Basic computer knowledge, Word and Excel is a plus.
