Job DescriptionKelly Services is now hiring a skilled TIG and stick welder for a local company within the petrochemical industries.Welding processes and equipment: TIG, MIG, and stickShop arithmetic, including algebra, fractions, and decimalsSkilled in:(Carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, monel, nickel alloys, hastelloy, aluminum and many alloys)Reading and interpreting blueprints and diagramsReading and interpreting scales and tape measuresDetermining the kind of tools, equipment, and welding methods needed to do a jobASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, preferred but not necessaryAbility to:Be extremely attentive to detailsSelf-start and work independently without direct supervisionSatisfactorily pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol testing, criminal background check, and reference checkingPerform other work as assignedWorks in a safe and conscientious manner to ensure personal safety and the safety of fellow crew membersCuts and/or joins metal parts in order to fabricate pipe, vessels, and other equipment using tools such as TIG welder and oxyacetylene weldingLayout, cut, fit and otherwise prepares material for weldingFabricate material from schematics and other drawingsDemonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings, sketches or verbal instructions to determine welding requirementsCandidate will set up components for welding according to specifications, and prepare product and parts to be welded (e.g. cut, grind, etc.)Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as neededComplete appropriate documentation and paperworkDemonstrate performance toward operational excellencePerform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirementsIdentify report and correct safety and environmental concernsPerform other duties as assignedThis will be a "single hand" positionAll equipment will be company furnishedMUST PROVIDE OWN HOODRequirementsEducation: High school diploma or equivalentExperience / specific knowledge:A minimum of 3-5 years of working knowledge and experience as a welderKnowledge of basic properties of metals (Carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium, monel, nickel alloys, hastelloy, aluminum and many alloys)Certifications, licenses, registrations:Achieve and maintain all qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job classificationMaintain individual welding qualification and certifications per requirementsCompetencies, skills, and abilities:GTAW welding experienceBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)Job planning and organization skillsExperience reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and other diagramsGood verbal and written communications skillsBe customer focusedMust be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), adhere to required work schedules, focus attention on details and follow work rulesMentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itselfPhysical demands:Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditionsMust be able to frequently:Enter confined spacesClimb to and work from elevated platforms, climb vertical access ladders, stairwells and walkwaysMust be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waistMust be able to carry up to 50 poundsWhy Kelly®?At Kelly \r\n\r\nServices®, we work with the best.
