Kelly Services Quality Manager in Delta, Canada

Our clients, a large privately owned structural steel fabricator and erector is seeking a self-motivated, customer focused and highlight efficient Quality Manager to join their team in Delta, BC. .

The Quality Manager is primarily accountable for implementing and enforcing a company-wide Quality Management System, managing QA/QC activities, and liaising between the Project Team, the Quality department and internal/external customers. While fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability with peers, customers and industry partners, the Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the project quality plan is executed and documented in accordance with the requirements of the contract, certifying that services are provided consistently and in accordance with the highest of quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with QMS committee to develop quality assurance and quality control procedures, processes, work instructions and policies

  • Managing quality systems including the Quality System database, processes, and procedures Managing and/or mitigating all quality concerns within the organization and associated projects

  • Advising management of areas for concern with regard to prospective projects and clients

  • Participating in the project quality audit and certification body audit to maintain company quality certifications (eg: ISO, CISC, AISC, CWB, etc.).

  • Planning/conducting QMS internal audit and ensure competency of internal auditors

  • Developing project Inspection and Test Plan (ITP)

  • Managing records of all welding-related activities, including control of WPSs, PQRs, welder qualifications, Non-Destructive Testing, etc.

  • Handling NCRs and compiling Quality turnover

  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization


  • Bachelor Degree in Welding or Metallurgical Engineering is an asset

  • CSA W178.2 Level 2 is an asset

  • Related experience in the structural steel, bridge or manufacturing industry

  • Detailed knowledge with Canadian and US Codes, such as CSA W59, W47.1, S16, S6, AWS D1.1/D1.5/D1.8, API650, API653, ASME Sect IX

  • Familiar with AISC Quality Management Systems requirements

  • Technical team leadership and problem solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Exemplary communication skills, both written and oral

  • Demonstrated leadership with adherence to safety procedures

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to verify alignment and dimensions of products
