Kelly Scientific Resources has an great opportunity for an Environmental Health & Safety Administrator to work in Easton, MD. The EHS Administrator position coordinates and performs activities necessary to ensure that all employees are provided a safe and healthy work place environment. Coordinates and performs activities necessary to ensure that the company s safety, air pollution, wastewater, radiation protection, respiratory protection, chemical hygiene, and hazardous waste disposal programs are in compliance with corporate, local, state and federal regulations.

Job Duties:

  • Be familiar with, practice and promote all policies in the Employee Manual;

  • Administrates the Respiratory Protection Program, Hazardous Waste Program, Air Pollution Program, and Wastewater Discharge Program.

  • Serves as Primary Emergency Coordinator, Safety Officer, Radiation Safety Officer, and Chemical Hygiene Officer

  • Maintains current knowledge concerning the legal requirements for regulated substances in the laboratory, OSHA Standards, RCRA Regulations, as well as local, state and federal air, wastewater and radiation regulations;

  • Reviews company policies and procedures related to chemical hygiene;

  • Assesses compliance of the company with the industrial hygiene plan; radiation protection safety compliance, air and water discharge;

  • Performs hazard evaluation for new chemicals and determine proper personal protective equipment for use with hazardous materials;

  • Assesses need for exposure monitoring;

  • Performs right-to-know, safety, emergency procedure and chemical hygiene training;

  • Performs radiation safety training;

  • Maintains radioactive material’s inventory;

  • Performs or coordinates wipe tests for radiation contamination;

  • Performs safety and chemical hygiene inspections;

  • Performs accident investigations;

  • Performs chemical fume hood inspections;

  • Performs or coordinates all chemical spill events;

  • Coordinates radiation instrument monitoring programs;

  • Writes and distributes compliance reports to local, state and federal agencies;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of lab experience

  • Experience with hazardous waste management, emergency coordinator, RCRA training or Radiation Safety training
