Kelly Services Manufacturing Maintenance Technician in Elk Grove Village, Illinois

  • 2 nd Shift: 1pm – 11:30pm, M-Th (some OT on Fridays)

  • Payrate: $25 - $35 (+ $1 shift differential)

What’s a typical day as a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician? You’ll be:

• Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

• Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.

• Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.

• Utilizing electrical competency for troubleshooting and familiarity with electrical principles and components.

• Conducting inspections, servicing, and testing machinery.

• Knowledgeable in piping systems, pipe fittings, pumps and motors, valves, etc.

• Understanding of gearboxes, motors, bearings, sprockets, chains, bushings, belts, and pulleys.

• Cleaning, repairing, and installing equipment and parts as needed.

• Operating sit-down forklift and/or articulating boom lift.

• Utilizing a variety of hand and power tools.

• Maintaining a clean and organized work area.

• Complying with health and safety regulations.

• Performing general maintenance work on buildings as assigned.

• Demonstrating strong computer skills, including sending and receiving emails and operating CMMS programs.

• Maintaining a strong working relationship with all plant departments.

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

• Have 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or in a similar role.

• Have industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.

• Have a high school diploma or GED. Trade certification or vocational school graduate preferred.

• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to operate hand and power tools.

• Possess mechanical aptitude and ability.

• Have strong computer skills.

• Are able to perform physical tasks and demonstrate physical dexterity.

• Have the ability to troubleshoot to identify and recommend solutions.

• Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Have knowledge of health and safety regulations.

• Can safely lift 50 lbs. and/or push, pull, or move heavy machinery and/or drums.

• Are able to work up to a 12-hour shift.
