Light Industrial Manufacturing Technician

$28-$32/hour

100% onsite

• 2nd shift position: 1:30PM to 11:00PM, working Friday is 12:30PM to 9:00PM*

Kelly Government Solutions is hiring for a light industrial manufacturing engineering technician on a government contract with our customer in Goleta, CA. This is a contract to hire opportunity.

Job Description:

Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment

• Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process

• Works with engineers in conducting experiments

• Handling and managing fragile composite materials

• Bond, prep, and bonding of composite structures to metallic fittings

• Notate usage, traceability, pot life, and out time controls on all adhesive materials used

• Report data and interface with other employees and departments

• Tooling preparation and release application

• Utilize measurement tools such as calipers, rulers, and tape measures for fabricating hardware

• Reading and understanding manufacturing blueprints and shop planning

• Assists in maintaining overall shop appearance and cleanliness

Required:

• Candidate should be mechanically inclined

• Experience with specialty harnessing and soldering, low level clean rooms, communication with inspectors, engineers, etc.

• Experience working with small mechanical sub-assemblies

• Experience interpreting mechanical drawings for instructions

• Ideally will need to have some sort of aerospace work experience

• Ability to interpret engineering notes
