Kelly® Engineering is seeking a skilled Sr. Project Engineer for a direct-hire position with a leading manufacturer of composites and engineered components in Houston, TX! Overview

This client specializes in composites, elastomers, and metalwork, often combining these materials to create custom solutions for their clients. Their team of professionals offer expertise on composite design, materials, and manufacturing plans, as well as providing technical and testing resources for new product development.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Project Manager to lead and manage multiple engineering projects within our organization. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong technical background, exceptional project management skills, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion across cross-functional teams.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the engineering team to achieve both short-term and long-term business goals.

• Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business standards, practices, and procedures.

• Serve as a technical sales leader, demonstrating strong customer-facing project leadership.

• Drive projects to successful completion across cross-functional groups.

• Manage engineers and technicians to facilitate program execution.

• Demonstrate strong time management skills to meet project deadlines.

• Execute analysis and evaluation of assigned projects, ensuring they meet business and product/program requirements.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to support personnel on assigned projects and tasks.

• Document technical data generated during project execution.

• Monitor and communicate project status, business issues, and significant developments.

• Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.

• Communicate and execute customer expectations across teams positively.

• Demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment.

• Foster teamwork within the department and with other departments.

• Solve complex problems using engineering expertise.

• Develop and execute objectives for self and team members.

• Utilize CAD systems and be proficient in SolidWorks.

• Embrace and actively participate in Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering.

• Proficient in project management tools (e.g., MS Project).

• Excellent oral and written communication skills (both technical and non-technical).

• Proven leadership in communicating business goals and fostering teamwork.

• Technological proficiency with relevant engineering tools.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make data-based recommendations.

• Experience with CAD systems and proficiency in SolidWorks.

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with composites and resin systems.

• Understanding of Six Sigma tools.

• Knowledge of compression molding and composite manufacturing methods.
