Kelly Services Field Chemist in Lynn, Massachusetts

Kelly Science is seeking a Field Chemist for a client located near Lynn, MA.

Salary: $41,000-66,000/year based on experience

Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire

Summary:

As a Field Chemist, You will be responsible for facilitating the Hazardous Waste and Waste Oil Program and providing field services for the customer at their site which can include characterization packaging, handling and transportation of waste.

Job Duties include:

  • Perform physical chemical inventories, segregate chemicals and maintain the chemical inventory database.

  • Coordinate and schedule waste shipment to include preparation of manifest, LDRs, packing slips and other required paperwork.

  • Ensure that required records to demonstrate regulatory compliance with RCRA inspections, waste shipments and generator logs are completed and maintained; investigate matters of non-compliance/discrepancies.

  • Provides Lab Packing services at customer site maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and with established company procedures.

  • Samples and characterizes hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

  • Generates waste profiles into end-user facility.

  • Provides customer with detailed inventory of waste on site.

  • Assists with scheduling wastes from customer site to end user or transfer facility.

  • Generates required internal paperwork to provide accurate and timely customer service and invoicing.

  • De-packs and consolidates waste.

  • Waste sampling collection, preparation, and chain-of-custody for waste characterization

  • Conducts the following inspections to include corrective actions for deficiencies:

  • RCRA / RRM Tanks

  • Central/Main Accumulation Areas

  • Satellite Accumulation Areas

  • Universal Waste

  • PCB Storage Areas

Qualifications Include:

  • 1-3 years of experience within waste related/environmental operations.

  • Knowledgeable in DOT, RCRA and Mass DEP regulatory practices specific to RCRA waste, lab packs, universal wastes, e-waste, TSCA, and non-hazardous waste streams.

  • Knowledgeable of chemistry principles and practices including analysis and evaluations, and waste processing protocols.

  • Required skills include performing proper analysis; presenting findings in a concise format; addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner; utilizing computer technology for communication, data gathering and reporting; negotiation and problem solving.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
