Kelly Services Senior Mechanical Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin

We are excited to announce a new opening for a Senior Mechanical Engineer with a leading company dedicated to producing high-quality consumer and industrial products. Summary:

Join our team to independently design and engineer components, machines, and systems for our product lines. Mentor and train junior colleagues while managing projects from concept to completion. Provide technical support to various departments and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

Engineer cost-effective components and systems using DFM principles and CAD software.

Prepare and review engineering drawings and plant layouts.

Project Management:

Manage projects from component selection to development of assembly drawings and bills of materials.

Create and manage detailed project plans with key milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders.

Technical Support:

Provide technical assistance to other departments and customers.

Analyze and approve designs from suppliers and subcontractors.

Review and disposition component non-conformances.

Process Improvement:

Maintain and improve existing products.

Create and maintain policies, procedures, engineering standards, and work instructions.

Mentorship:

Train and mentor less experienced team members.

Continuous Learning:

Stay current on codes and industry requirements; engage in educational opportunities and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

8+ years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in food processing/packaging.

Proficiency in 3D Solid Modeling (Inventor preferred), PDM software (Autodesk Vault Pro preferred), and MRP/ERP systems.

Skilled in Microsoft Office and project scheduling tools like Microsoft Project.

Extensive experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).

Skills:

Project management and leadership abilities.

Experience in reverse engineering and using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers).

Proficient in root cause analysis and formal problem-solving techniques.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
