Kelly Services Electro-Mechanical Technician in North Chesterfield, Virginia

Kelly Engineering is currently recruiting for a (Contract to Hire with Benefits!) (Electro-Mechanical Technician) job located in Richmond, VA .

Responsibilities: We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for routine maintenance support to the operations departments in a highly automated environment. This multi-craft position (electrical, mechanical, and electronic) will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and electrical industrial equipment for a designated department within the plant. The ideal candidate must have a continuous improvement mindset while achieving the overall objectives with preventative maintenance and quick repair for trouble calls from Production Leaders. Assists other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment. Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, laptop) Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot & repair electrical, electronic systems, control and components of industrial machines, tools, and production/utility equipment. Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment. Including but not limited to seals, gaskets and bearings on motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, etc. Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic controls, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.

Requirements: Enrolled in Trade/Technical School certification. 3+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair 3+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair. Must be able to follow instructions and exercise good judgment. Strong knowledge of electrical power and control, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanic principals. Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics. Knowledge to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and decide the best course of action to fix. Must be proficient using all electrical measuring instruments. Ability to install equipment, machine controls, conduit, and wiring. Ability to repair machines or systems using the required tools. Must have working knowledge of Lockout/Tag our procedures, NEC rules and regulations. Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Must have good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision. Must have computer skills necessary to interface with machinery programs. Must be able to work with little or no supervision. Good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to read, understand, and fabricate from basic sketches/drawings and be able to read electrical and mechanical drawings. Must be able to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors and/or vendors.

Preferred Qualifications: Trade/Technical School certification 5+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair 5+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair Experience in robotics. Controls Troubleshooting experience. Networking Troubleshooting experience.
