Kelly Services Laboratory Technician in Raynham, Massachusetts

Pay Rate: $30-32/hr days; $36-38/hr evening and weekend hours

Schedule: First shift with flexibility and occasional weekends

Overview

This client is an industry-leading biotechnology company that’s leading the way in surgical technologies. In this role you’ll be working with cross-functional teams to prepare, observe and clean up after educational surgeries on cadavers and various other models/tissues. This role will give you an opportunity to learn and contribute to surgical education while helping deliver new surgical therapies to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide radiologic technical assistance in preparing for and conducting non-survival animal (acute) or human cadaver labs in Clinical Simulation Dept.

  • Provide overall lab technician assistance in preparing for and conducting inanimate (animal tissue or human cadaver) in Clinical Simulation Dept.

  • Ensure that lab areas, including surgical pods and surgical support areas are set-up and maintained with appropriate tissue type, instrumentation and lab equipment.

  • Ensure that lab areas, including surgical pods and support areas, are restored to proper order at the end of lab. This may include appropriately disposing of single-use items, putting away lab equipment, and washing/sanitizing reusable instrumentation.

  • Maintain lab and instrumentation cleanliness/sterility in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Ensure proper documentation and record keeping in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Maintain inventory of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment in compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental procedures.

  • Routine maintenance (annual) and Non-routine maintenance on assigned equipment responsibilities; including but not limited to the C-arm

  • Adherence to company and department protocol guidelines for acute lab procedures; including but not limited to fluorscopic radiology procedures.

  • Complete all required training in areas of responsibility within alotted time.

  • Participate in required annual health surveillance program (including the completion of blood-borne pathogen training, as needed).

  • Participate in quarterly audit sweeps to maintain regulatory and departmental compliance.

  • Collaboration with internal and external associates and customers in the planning and execution of hands-on training labs. This include but is not limited to: Health Care Professionals, Third Party Vendors and other JnJ Dept. (Marketing, Sales, etc.).

  • Lead and execute projects not necessarily associated with radiology.

  • Ability to work early morning, evenings and weekends, when necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher required.

  • X-ray technician preferred.

  • Comfortable working in a medical lab setting environment with human cadaveric tissue, live animal, animal tissue.

  • Team player; ability to work well with people of varying opinions and backgrounds.

  • Must have flexibility in work schedule and availability

  • Must be able to stand, walk, wear lead vests for several hours and lift 15-25 pounds at a time, occasionally overhead.
