Kelly Services Part Inspector in Rochester, New York

Job Title: Material Handler

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Rochester, NY

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Job Description: We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Material Handler to ensure efficient material flow and management within our facility. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in maintaining organized inventory and supporting production operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain adequate levels of materials on production floor racks.

  • Unload and inspect incoming raw materials; safely store and tag materials.

  • Keep receiving area clean and organized.

  • Remove middle stock bands and wood before bringing material to the floor.

  • Utilize SFMS (Stock Flow Management System) to maintain proper material flow.

  • Notify Material Manager of any material quality issues.

Recycling Responsibilities:

  • Empty and process chip carts; segregate recycled materials and used oils.

  • Maintain recycling systems and perform daily maintenance.

  • Clean, identify, and segregate bins and carts; report any contamination issues.

  • Label and secure cutting oil drums properly.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in quality, production, and engineering discussions to identify areas for improvement.

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to the position.

  • Perform assigned tasks and fulfill responsibilities as directed by the supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

  • Bending, lifting, standing, walking, and hearing abilities required.

Environmental Factors:

  • Exposure to hazardous materials; use of hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and work boots required.

Training:

  • Two weeks of training on day shift prior to transitioning to night shift.

  • Forklift and Combi lift experience preferred; on-the-job paid training provided.

Note: Training will be conducted during day shifts for two weeks before transitioning to the night shift schedule.
