Summary: Our client, based in Seattle, is a privately held, clinical-stage, fully integrated biopharmaceutical company. Founded in 2017 with a vision to use genetically engineered spirulina - photosynthetic, edible algae – for manufacturing and delivering biologic drugs. Our client uses the spirulina platform for gastrointestinal, airway, and topical delivery of therapeutic proteins, including antibodies, bioactive peptides, enzymes, cytokines, and vaccine antigens. Therapeutic areas of interest encompass infectious diseases, cardiometabolic diseases, inflammatory diseases, and enzyme deficiencies.

The Project Manager plays a critical role in our expanding biopharmaceutical company's Clinical Affairs Program. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating various projects within the program, ensuring their successful execution from initiation to completion. The Project Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including grants management, data management, regulatory affairs, medical writing, clinical laboratory, and clinical operations, to achieve project objectives and deliver results within established timelines. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, strong leadership abilities, and effective communication to drive project success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Planning and Execution:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Coordinate and manage project activities, ensuring adherence to timelines, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or risks, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.

  • Foster collaboration and communication among cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.

  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders involved in the project.

  • Facilitate effective communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment on project objectives, timelines, and deliverables.

  • Efectively identify and address stakeholder needs and concerns, fostering positive working relationships.

  1. Resource Allocation and Management:
  • Assess project resource requirements and coordinate with functional teams to allocate resources effectively.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Monitor resource utilization, identify bottlenecks or gaps, and propose strategies for resource optimization.

  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project timelines or objectives.

  • Develop risk mitigation plans and proactively address challenges to minimize project disruptions.

  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate risk management strategies are implemented.

  1. Project Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including project plans, progress reports, and meeting minutes.

  • Generate timely and comprehensive project status reports for management and stakeholders.

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal SOPs for document management and archiving.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of clinical trial processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong leadership abilities, including the capacity to guide cross-functional teams and resolve conflicts effectively.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.

  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, INDs, and BLAs is highly desirable.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific or healthcare discipline. Advanced degree preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in project management within the biopharmaceutical or clinical research industry.

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully managing complex projects within established timelines and budgets.
