Senior Logistics Manager

Location: Shelbyville, KY

Salary: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year

Direct Hire – onsite 5 days a week

Currently seeking a Senior Logistics Manager responsible for managing daily logistics and customer service operations, identifying areas for continuous improvement, tracking KPIs, and supporting the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of Receiving & Put-away, Cycle Count, Picking & Shipping, Logistics Layout, and Customer Service.

  • Develop and implement logistics procedures, time studies, workflow improvements, and parts flow strategies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

  • Identify, test, and implement Kaizen improvements within the Logistics Department.

  • Ensure effective communication with internal departments and support company KPIs.

  • Set clear goals for the team and address issues promptly.

  • Ensure cross-training within the team and establish backups for each process.

  • Manage Continuous Improvement (CI), Kaizen, and GNNP improvement activities.

  • Foster a positive team environment and support the investigation and resolution of customer and internal complaints.

  • Manage the customer service team to address customer supply issues.

  • Collaborate with other departments (EDI, Quality, Production, Planning) to resolve issues impacting customers.

  • Support the customer service team in providing exceptional service and maintaining high customer satisfaction.

  • Promote a safe workplace by adhering to safety rules and identifying potential safety issues.

  • Support cycle count activities to validate inventory and develop countermeasures for variances.

  • Work with Planning & Logistics teams to plan inventory levels and optimize warehouse layout.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply chain or related field preferred

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing projects in a logistics environment.

  • 5-8 years of experience in a logistics background without a BA degree

  • At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing.

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage projects effectively.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and staff.

  • Knowledge of production and distribution/warehousing processes.

  • Cooperative team player with the ability to motivate and lead others positively.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

  • Highly detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple priorities and organize work efficiently.
