Qualifications

• The noise level in the quality test lab requires eye protection

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily

• Ability to use computer at

• Inspection and/or production experience,

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds occasionally

• Ability to follow written instructions and perform very detailed and accurate work

• Ability to use standard measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers and scales

• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus

• Ability to use computer to record the results of the weld measurements

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

• Excellent organizational skills

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information

• Self-starter and/or team player with strong verbal written, and communication skills

• Strong integrity and the ability to maintain confidentiality

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• 1 year

Responsibilities

• Initiate documentation to record testing and auditing results, scrap paperwork and process as directed

• Perform inspections involving performing examination and measurement of crosscut sections of a various weld types

• These include, resistance spot welds, GMAW and Laser welds

• Duties involve obtaining samples from completed assemblies, cutting out test areas, sectioning the cross section of the weld, grinding and polishing the sample, etching the sample and then measuring the required dimensions using a microscope and computer software

• Perform inspections of spotwelds using ultrasonic non-destructive methods (Time TBD)

• Provide feedback on all acceptable finished goods and to aid the quarantine all problematic finished goods for QA analysis

• Scrap the remaining pieces of part after jobs are completed

• Notify Management immediately when any quality issue or test result falls outside of documented requirements

• Address day to day quality issues through resolution

• Special projects as assigned, working independently and/or within a team

• Provides other assistance to Quality & Plant Management as requested

• Work closely with shop floor to advise on Quality expectations

• Other duties as assigned
