Job Responsibilities

Ensure sound Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Environmental (QCD&E) performance of packaging for all automotive, motorcycle, power equipment, and marine product service parts.

Play a vital, foundation-strengthening role by developing the competency and commitment of our business partners in adhering to company’s packaging requirements. Primary roles include supporting other team members within the Packaging and Damage groups. Also, reviewing and approving part packaging for assigned suppliers while seeking opportunities to further improve customer satisfaction by Damage reduction initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities

• Educate part suppliers on company’s packaging guidelines

• Train part suppliers to effectively use the online packaging system for specifications & cost approvals

• Manage suppliers’ timeliness, accuracy and specification completion performance

• Packaging Operations liaison on cross-functional team when onboarding new part suppliers

• Curate foundation documents used for educating and training suppliers

• Support Packaging Engineer peers with development, testing, and cost negotiation

• Review and track monthly material invoices and monthly reporting

• Damage and Packaging DTR processing

• Identify, implement, document and track damage reduction opportunities

Qualifications

• University Degree or equivalent work experience

• Excellent project management, communication and presentation skills

Critical Competencies

Communication, Planning & Organizing, Interpersonal Skills, Teamwork, Technical Skills, Proficient in Microsoft Office and Values Diversity, Trainable and Coachable

Daily/Weekly functions:

• Packaging engineer supporting role: Contacting suppliers to further support the timely submission of packaging specifications

• Packaging engineer supporting role: Adhoc and department level project support

• Review packaging specifications submitted by assigned suppliers

• Damage mitigation and overall cost management of assigned suppliers

• Onboarding new service part suppliers to ensure packaging guidelines are understood and followed

• Monthly material vendor invoice processing

• Delivery Trouble Report processing

• Work with all stakeholders to improve part quality by reducing part damages
