Kelly Services Electromechanical Test Technician in Warsaw, Indiana

Kelly Services, the industry leader in manufacturing career placement, is excited to partner with a premier Medical Device Manufacturer in Warsaw, Indiana. We are currently hiring Electromechanical Test Technicians to help meet production demands and drive new product development.

This position involves conducting mechanical and functional testing independently, supporting the development and verification of orthopedic implants and instrumentation. Responsibilities include preparing test specimens, performing tests using equipment like Instron and MTS, analyzing data using statistical methods, and preparing detailed reports and protocols. The role requires effective communication with cross-functional teams, adherence to ASTM/ISO standards, and maintaining laboratory records.

Job Title: Electromechanical Test Technician

1st Shift: 8AM-5PM (Monday-Friday)

Pay Rate: $38-$42 Hourly (dependent upon experience)

Location: Warsaw, Indiana

Responsibilities:

  • Desk environment, handling documentation of raw materials specifications.

  • Will perform mechanical and functional testing independently under the input from research and testing engineer. Testing will support design characterization, verification, risk assessment and supplier changes of orthopedic implants and instrumentation. This includes communication with multiple disciplines, knowledge of mechanical testing apparatus/methodology, and data reporting.

  • Independently execute mechanical testing to assess functional requirements of implants and instruments. Perform mechanical testing such as fatigue, endurance, static testing, tensile testing, corrosion testing, and load to failure.

  • Prepares test specimens and performs laboratory experiments per provided protocols (Instron, MTS).

  • Analyze data and using statistical analysis.

  • Writes protocols, reports, and procedures.

  • Maintains laboratory records.

  • Clearly and professionally communicate test findings, technical challenges, and proposed resolutions to R&T members.

  • Support scheduling of work to plan as well as facilitating operation and communication.

  • Plan for execution of electro-mechanical testing methods for orthopedic surgery applications, equipment, and processes as well as components.

  • Develop testing protocols and execute them as per the plan.

  • Analyze test results and prepare test reports.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of related experience and technical or associate degree is required.

  • Must have experience with lab test equipment (MTS or Instron).

  • Experienced writing reports.

  • Flexible to support different projects and work as a team player.

  • Ability to use computer and laboratory equipment and software, perform statistical data analysis and test results interpretation is required.

  • Ability to independently plan and perform hands-on lab work is required.

  • Outstanding communication and technical writing skills to communicate highly technical concepts and data to diverse technical and non-technical partners is required.

  • Knowledge of current ASTM/ISO test standards and ISO 17025 accreditation is preferred.

  • Basic use of shop/lab hand tools is preferred.

  • Familiarity with material mechanical testing is preferred.
