Job Title: Lead Process Engineer - Ethylene Production

Job Summary: As the Lead Process Engineer specializing in Ethylene production at the plant, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Your responsibilities will span troubleshooting, implementing solutions, enhancing process capabilities, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Leveraging your extensive experience in petrochemical plant operations, particularly with ethylene Cracker plants, you will lead projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve production excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and troubleshoot manufacturing processes and equipment, proposing and implementing effective solutions to identified issues.

  • Enhance process capability and maintain quality standards through innovative solutions and operating discipline.

  • Develop and implement operating disciplines to ensure plant safety and efficiency.

  • Evaluate manufacturing systems, propose improvements, and implement enhancements as necessary.

  • Collect and interpret data, conduct tests on new processes, and propose adjustments for improved efficiency.

  • Collaborate with equipment designers and manufacturing personnel to develop cost-effective production processes.

  • Mentor and provide training to junior engineers, overseeing their work and providing feedback.

  • Liaise with various stakeholders, including engineers, planners, and operations personnel, to coordinate work effectively.

  • Communicate regularly with plant operators, addressing operational concerns and suggestions.

  • Maintain operational records and reports, evaluating process efficiency, quality, and safety, and making recommendations for improvement.

  • Analyze process changes' impact on production and implement improvements to reduce costs and increase efficiency.

  • Assist in project planning and management, including small capital upgrades.

  • Conduct incident investigations, provide suggestions for corrective actions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Stay abreast of new manufacturing technology and propose updates as necessary.

  • Act as a leader to an assigned team of engineers, assuming delegated responsibilities of the Production Manager when necessary.

  • Develop and review Standard Operating Procedures to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.

  • 10-15 years of experience as a Process Engineer in large petrochemical plant operations.

  • Extensive experience in ethylene Cracker plant operations, particularly with CAPEX responsibilities.

  • Proficiency in researching best chemical plant practices and knowledge of plant safety, health, and environmental regulations.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
